My soon to be 8 year old is a Lego fan! He loves his Legos. We went to Legoland over the kiddos spring break and Alex wants a Lego birthday party. I was looking for fun invitations for his party when I came across these. Aren't they adorable? They were a little time consuming to make 10 of them, but it was so worth it! They turned out fabulous! I can't take credit for the original idea. It was made by a very talented demonstrator named Alanna Wharf. She even typed up step by step directions so if you want to make your own, here are the details. Enjoy!
Base: Real Red 4 1/4 x 5 1/2, Pacific Point 4 x 5 1/4, circles for 'lego pegs' 1 1/4" circle punch x 6 (I sponged the edge of each circle to give them definition against the same colored background)
Head: Daffodil Delight 1 1/4 square punch (rounded edges with corner rounder punch). 'peg' on top of head 11/16" x 1/4 " (I rounded the edges at the top slightly with paper snips, only 1/8" is showing). Neck 7/8" x 1/5 " (only 1/8" showing).
Eyes: 1/4" circle and the white circles are the circles for the eyes from the Owl punch
Mouth: 3/4" circle punch and 1/2" circle punch. I punched a 'ring' and then cut about a 1/3 off and then rounded the edges slightly with paper snips for a softer mouth.
Body: Real Red CS 2" (tall) x 2 1/4" (wide). I marked 1/4" in on each side at the top of the body and then drew a diagonal line from the bottom corner up to the 1/4" mark on each side and trimmed that section off to narrow the top of the body.
Arms: Basic Gray & Word Window Punch. I cut about 1/3 off the upper part of the arm to create a straight end and about 1/2 off the lower part of the arm. The 'wrist' is 1/4" strip of Daffodil delight and glued behind the arm with a bit showing to glue the 'hand' to. The hand is created with Daffodil Delight and creating 'rings' using the 1/4" circle punch and the circle punch from Itty Bitty Bits. The bottom of the body has a strip of Basic Black 2 1/4" x 1/4" showing with enough above the 1/4" to attach behind the Real Red.
Legs: Basic Black 1" x 1 7/8" (with only 1 1/2" showing, including the 'foot')
Feet: Basic Black 1" x 1/2" (adhered with dimensionals). I also punched 4 circles with the 1/8" circle punch (retired) to create 'pegs' on the feet (this would technically be the underside of the feet, next time I think I'd try 6 or omitting this step would be fine too.)
Sentiment: Word Window and Teeny Tiny Wishes
I hope all of this makes sense. Comment or send me a message if you have any questions.
