Keepin' It Simple

If you plan to stamp your Holiday cards, I just wanted to give you an update that it is only about 2 months away, and it takes some time to stamp cards. Depending on how many you plan to make, you should be ordering your supplies very soon. 

Also, consider the time it takes to make the kind of card you want to send out. If there is a lot of coloring or cutting, it will take longer.  If you go for the simple, yet stunning card, look for shortcuts with punches, designer paper and wheels.  This card I received as a swap is a great example  It uses a large background stamp (Sanded) and the Photo Corner punch and Word Window punch, Star punch and also some designer paper to make things even easier!  There is no need to complicate your card to make it cute!

Simple Tree

This is a great card for the  holiday and quite easy too!  The Kiwi Kiss image is a Big Shot die.  It is the easiest way to make a background!  I received this as a swap from the KC Regional from one of my downline who was attending.

Fun Sunflowers

This was one of the favorite cards made at my September Stamp Camp.  The flowers are made with the Scallop Circle Punch and cut in towards the center. The leaves are made by folding a piece of paper in half, then running through the crimper at a diagonal, then cut the shape out.  Everyone loved it. 

We will be making other great projects like these at the October Stamp Camp.  You won't want to miss it!

The Big Shot is Snow Fun!

This is a really great simple card I received at that the KC Regional.  It uses the Big Shot and the Snowflake #2 die cut.  If you haven't heard about the Big Shot, then go quickly!  It is the best thing since sliced bread - sliced cardstock! 

This card is also stamped with the Snow Burst Stamp Set.  I like simple cards like this.  Quick, Cute and Easy!

Scallop Bats!

Just look at the cute-ness of this Halloween card!  I received it as a swap at the KC Regional.  I think the current Stampin' Up! catalog has the CUTEST Halloween stamp sets I've ever seen! 

You might be able to tell by looking, but the bats were made by punching the new Square Scallop Punch, folding it in half, then just cutting out a little "V" on each side.  Then, add the White Gel Pen for the eyes. 

It also uses the new 1 3/4" circle punch for the moon.  Can you say CUTE?  oh, yea, I already did.

The tree and the greeting is from House of Haunts stamp set and the background is wheeled with the Haunting Wheel. 

Purple, orange and black are one of my favorite colors to make Halloween projects with.

Scandinavian Season

This is another project we made at the KC Regional.  It uses a stamp set that is in the Holiday Mini Catalog that just became available and goes through January 18.  To view more from the mini catalog just go to my Stampin' Up! website at www.brendaluter.stampinup.net and click on the Shop Now button, then click on Specials.

This card had a lot of dimension on the instructions!  The flower was cut out and put on a dimensional on the tree. Then the tree was put on the piece of textured card stock with dimensionals, then the textured card stock piece was put on the card with dimensionals!  Whew, you'd think it would be a mile high by now, but it's not.  It's really cute!  To color in the tree, we used the lids of the Tangerine Tango, Old Olive, and Chocolate Chip ink pads and the Aqua Painter.  The wheel used is called Scandinavian and was wheeled in Chocolate Chip ink.  I used a stamp-a-ma-jig this time - can you tell? My scanner had a little hiccup there and you might not be able to tell.
