My brother is getting married next weekend and over the course of the last few month, my mom and I have made a lot of the wedding things. My mom made all the cool invitations and rehearsal dinner invitations, and I did the shower invitation and thank you notes. The French Flair background stamp was used primarily in all the items, but the dove from Carte Postale was used also.
This is the outside of the invitation when it is closed. It folds in thirds and there is a Lavendar Lace belly band around it. The top layer of the thirds has a swerve cut across it. The two doves were embossed with clear embossing powder. These fit into a #10 business sized envelope to be mailed.
This is the inside of the invitation when it is open. The middle part has the swirl done on the Cuttlebug. The Lavender Lace piece of cardstock slides under the black strip to hold it in place. If someone wanted to, they could just take this part out and stick it on the fridge. The bottom section holds the RSVP card which comes out to be mailed back. The black part on the right of this has the dove embossed with clear embossing powder. It is hard to see the dove.
This is the invitation I made for a shower I threw. The French Flair is embossed in Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder. It is simple and elegant. I stamped the tag with the swirl image in Carte Postale - I stamped it off in gray 2 times before I stamped it to make it just a faint gray. Then, I stamped the Mr. & Mrs. from Taggers Dozen and attached with some black grosgrain ribbon. The white part of the card opens up, then it is on a quarter sheet of Lavender Lace.
For her gift, I stamped 40 thank you notes. They were very easy to do. The middle white layer was embossed with the swirl on the cuttlebug. I stamped the dove from Carte Postale in Lavender Lace and the Thanks from Much Appreciated. That piece was sponged on the edges before mounting to the Lavender Lace cardstock.
These are the invitations to the rehearsal dinner. I don't know where I saw this idea, but fell in love with it! It is simple to do. The main part of the card is vellum cardstock and is stamped with white ink. Let it dry overnight before putting the ribbon on! Then, the invitation writing was printed on the computer and adhered to the inside of the card.
All the stamp sets used to make these invitations are retiring from the Stampin' Up! catalog. If you want to order them to make your own wedding sampler, please let me know by Saturday and I can get it ordered before it is gone.
Hope you enjoyed them. Let me know what you think!
